A partnership created in 2003 between Avaya and CompTIA let candidates who had already passed the CTP+ exam bypass the core exam of Avaya’s entry-level certification Avaya Certified Associate. For professionals working on Avaya networks or planning to in the future, this meant that obtaining both vendor-neutral and vendor-specific certification was an expedited task and helped them move to high-level Avaya certifications such as Certified Specialist and Certified Expert.
Throughout 2010, Avaya has launched their new Professional Credential Program with a wide assortment of new certifications for Avaya professionals at all levels. Unfortunately, the new program is replacing Avaya’s previous certification offerings, including the convergence-focused Avaya Certified Associate. Those working with Avaya convergence technologies should explore the Professional Credential Program to determine which certifications are appropriate for their position and expertise. More information can be found at the Avaya Learning Center.
