Trouble Spots

The biggest mistake that an exam candidate could make with regard to this exam is to not carefully review the exam objectives (which are listed later in this exam profile). When Microsoft created the certification program for Exchange Server 2010, they broke the certification process into two separate exams. Exam 70-662 was a basic skills exam and 70-663 was all about using your skills to solve various business problems. Being that the Exchange Server 2013 certification track also has two exams and exam 70-341 is a basic skills exam, it is easy to assume that Exam 70-342 is the Exchange 2013 version of the infamous 70-663 exam.

Although Exam 70-342 does focus on solving business problems, there is also a considerable amount of emphasis on configuring some of the more advanced Exchange Server features. For example, this exam requires you to know how to deploy and configure unified messaging.
