This video course will provide appropriate instruction and walk-throughs to allow job seekers to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Azure next-gen, cloud-based database technologies.

Overview:

Cloud-based IT services, such as those provided by Microsoft Azure, are one of the fastest growing segments of the computing industry, and database management products are one of the major categories of services that Azure and other cloud services provide. One of the fundamental elements of Azure from its inception was Microsoft SQL Services, which ported the database management capabilities of Microsoft's SQL Server product to the cloud. In the time since the introduction of Microsoft Azure, the cloud-based SQL implementation has been enhanced to include a range of deployment options that provide subscribers with varying levels of administrative independence. Virtual machine-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) installations provide the cloud equivalent of the in-house SQL server; SQL managed instances eliminate the need for administration of the operating system; and SQL Database is a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) product that takes both the OS and the SQL instance administration chores out of the consumers' hands. All of these database management solutions have their own administration and maintenance requirements, and the DP-300 exam is designed to test a student's familiarity with these requirements.

This video series will provide proper instruction on how to implement and manage the operational aspects of solutions built on SQL Server and Azure SQL services. It will illustrate how to use the many different methods and tools to perform and automate day-to-day operations along with other tools for management and administrative tasks.

Additionally, this video series will showcase how to implement the core tenants related to the role of an Azure database administrator, including management, availability, security, performance, and high availability and disaster recovery.
