Network Server Location

A network server should be housed in a room designed to support this very special and very expensive piece of equipment. The server room should be secured and only authorized personnel should be allowed into the server room. A network server with all the redundancy described in this article is vulnerable to being switched off by a passerby if it is "housed" in someone's office.

The server room should be environmentally controlled. Network servers do not function well in rooms that are too hot or too humid.
