When it comes to Windows 7 certifications, exam70-683 is unique. Most of the certification exams that Microsoft offers are geared toward either IT pros or toward developers. However, Exam 70-683 is intended for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

Candidates taking this exam primarily do so as a way of demonstrating that they know how to pre-install Windows 7 on a brand new computer that will be shipped to a customer. As such, the exam is most suitable for IT professionals who either work for an OEM or who hope to get a job with an OEM.
